
Phew! This has been the busiest and best year of my life, and we're only half way through it! As some of you know I got married on June 5th to a wonderful girl and am happily settling into married life. The book has been doing very well and in May we were named a Finalist for Book of the Year in the Self-help category in the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards! Quite an honor considering the thousands of entries it was up against.

I have some very exciting news... A Life Less Anxious will have a booth at the prestigious Chicago Tribune Printers Row LIT Fest this weekend, June 12-13!
The festival is considered the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest, drawing more than 125,000 book lovers to the two-day event. Exhibitors include booksellers, publishers, and literacy and cultural organizations.

You've probably seen it before. An individual or even a small group of people in a park practicing martial art moves at a very deliberate pace. This is Tai Chi, a low impact Chinese marital art often practiced as a form of meditation.
According to a study published in the BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine journal, Tai Chi does appear to have positive psychological effects.

According to a recent study, exercise may act like a miracle drug for many people suffering from depression and anxiety disorders.
Jasper Smits, one of the researchers and director of the Anxiety Research and Treatment Program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, explains,"Individuals who exercise report fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression, and lower levels of stress and anger."
