4 Spiritual Facts of Life (from the spirit world)

September 19th, 2011

One of my favorite quotes:

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.  Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.  Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.  Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.  Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.  But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” ~Buddha

There are a lot of spiritual philosophies out there today. I’ve explored many of them, but my main source of spiritual knowledge doesn’t come from books or certifications. It comes from working directly with people’s angels, spirit guides and loved ones in Heaven. Everything I’ve learned to be true comes from that which I’ve seen with my own eyes to be true, including witnessing hundreds of people’s experiences. So this is how my own beliefs are formed. And this is what I’ve learned.

We Each Have A Life Chart

Each one of us has a “life chart,” this is an outline of our divine purpose on this planet. Our chart is like a syllabus of what we’re here to learn and do before we die. Similar to school, it will have some highlights like: 1992, attend this college in this city. 2005: meet the person I will marry. But in between, there is a ton of free will. What I’ve seen is when things are destined, they will happen, even if you look back and say, why on earth did I do that? When you feel strongly  guided to do something, or find yourself “at the right place, at the right time,” that is a specific, divinely timed event happening that was written in your life’s chart. You can call this destiny.

What is Destined?

Some jobs, friendships, family relationships even pets are “meant to be.” When you feel reunited with an old soul, like you’ve known them  before, that’s destined. Deja vu – it’s the same thing. Whenever someone or something feels familiar, it’s because you’ve had a memory of what you planned happening before you even got here. We each have a life review before we come here, providing glimpses into what our life will “look” like. Perhaps this is to help us familiarize ourselves with some important key events or people who will be instrumental in our lives in some way so we remember not to pass them by once we’re here!

In my Angel Therapy practice, what I’ve seen destined the most is love. No one can ever convince me that we can somehow control our love lives, as much as I’d love to believe that’s true. I’ve been shown over and over that our love life is destined in terms of soul mates. Some of us have charted that we accomplish certain things, or learn more about ourselves, before we meet our soul mates. So it can seem like we have control over it,  but really, we’re just doing our homework, preparing for that next “class” in life – “how to share a life with your soul mate.” From what I’ve seen, there is no potential love that is insignificant – even those brief first dates that don’t go anywhere can have significance.

How Does Free Will Work?

I can only tell you as much as I’ve learned from working with the spirit world. And that is that our free will is a powerful tool. We can choose to stay in unhealthy relationships, or we can choose to learn the lessons we’re meant to from them and move on to a happier one. Our life presents unlimited paths for us to choose to go down. For example, your life purpose may be to teach. But that doesn’t mean you have to teach in a classroom. You can choose to serve your purpose in any way you’d like. You can work in a bookstore, you can be a doctor, you can be a counselor or a mother or an artist – there are many ways to teach others here. Some souls want to be able to choose. And others will feel it’s less important for them to have to learn from the choosing process – these souls are usually clear from a very young age what they want to do, and they do it without a second thought. I can think of several childhood friends who wanted to be school teachers since grammar school, and twenty years later, they’re still teaching… except to kids, not stuffed animals.

Even within destined events, you have the freedom to use your free will. You can be destined to be in a crummy job, for example, because there’s someone there who needs you, or you’re learning about self-worth, confidence and assertiveness. You can accept this destiny as a long-term situation, or use your free will to learn the lesson, serve your purpose, and move on. I don’t believe that any of us is destined to suffer – suffering comes from feeling detached from the learning experience and forgetting that we have the power of free will to change the perspective of our reality, and thereby change our situation. Often, I’ve witnessed suffering also being the result from staying in a situation long after the purpose has been served, which can result in stagnancy, depression and even toxicity.

What about Karma?

I personally do not subscribe to any philosophy that promotes feelings of self-punishment or a belief in a punishing God. I believe beyond a shadow of doubt that God is merciful and loving. Logically, if God is unconditional love, than how does it make sense that He would reject any of us for our flaws and imperfections?

What I’ve seen to be true, working with the spirit world, is that “karma” isn’t meant to be a punishment from God or the universe. Karma, in my understanding through this intuitive work, is a tool to help us love ourselves unconditionally, and learn how to heal ourselves and others through love. Karma can also be viewed as a spiritual law of checks and balances that we humans agreed to so we could keep ourselves spiritually “in check” and be able to balance our ego and spirit here in the world of illusions that can distract us from divine love. Karma mostly manifests as guilt: our own guilt from doing something that felt less than “God-like” or “love-like” towards ourselves or another. We created karma with the hope that we will self-correct and overcome the temptation to behave in a way that weakens our personal integrity again.

For example, if you were cruel to animals in a past life, you may come back and feel so sensitive to animal cruelty that you become an activist. I’m not saying this always happens – life is very complex, and that’s why there will always be a mystery to a large extent, to how it works. Some things will be protected from being revealed or it could compromise our experience here. But one thing I’ve seen is people unconsciously self-punishing themselves due to unresolved guilt from a past life. It doesn’t have to be something extremely horrific, either. It could be that you weren’t kind to strangers, so in this life, you make sure you smile, volunteer or simply be kind to people in passing. Karma can also be guilt over not doing something: this kind of guilt may encourage you to have courage in this life to overcome challenges and not let yourself be walked over or miss out on exciting opportunities. Not everything is as dramatic as we may think when it comes to our spiritual life. Some of it is simple, but profound nonetheless. Profoundly life changing and soul enriching.

That’s really the purpose of karma, as far as I could tell. To provide us an opportunity for deeper learning, for exploring our options and choices in life (our free will), and to self-correct whatever we don’t feel proud of through our sheer God-like innate love and goodness. When karma has been cleared, your life may feel more in balance. You may find guilt less of a theme in your life and relationships. Your self-esteem may increase. And you may feel less negative things happening to you because you become attracted to healthier situations that don’t “punish” you. That’s not to say we can avoid negative things from happening – life lessons can be painful. But there are many ways we can choose to lessen the stress and pain of life by increasing our self-esteem and choosing healthier relationships and situations.
