Have Some Common Scents

August 22nd, 2011

If you’ve got a sensitive sniffer, you may be surprised how quickly a good scent could uplift your mood. If you’ve ever loved how you feel with a spray of your favorite perfume, then you know what aromatherapy feels like. It brings a boost to your day, makes you feel good and can act like a natural mood enhancer.
You don’t need to be an expert aromatherapist to use scents in a therapeutic way. Just go to your local health food store and take a whiff from the tester bottles. Whatever elevates your mood on the spot is the scent you need. The scents you’re attracted to now may change as your needs change.
The easiest way to use oils is to put them in an oil burner. You can find these at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Bath and Body Works. Drop some oils in and let the scent fill the room with loveliness. I recently picked up Bath & Body Works Lavender Vanilla oil for my bedroom, so nice for sleep. I also got lemon for cleansing, rose for love and vanilla for calming. Combine your favorite oils in a burner or put a few drops on a candle and create a spa-like atmosphere in your home!
You can also mix them with a carrier oil like Jojoba and use them for a relaxing massage or try putting some drops in the bath to enhance your bubbly retreat.
