Mission: Six-pack Abs
An experiment to find out if getting those sexy six-pack abs like you always see on guys in commercials will improve my quality of lifeMission Six-pack Abs: A Personal Experiment
Theory: My theory is that by spending the next 4-6 weeks working toward the goal of getting six-pack abs, I will be forced to discipline myself to exercise regularly and eat a very healthy diet, which in turn will help me to:
- have more energy
- sleep better
- get sick less often
- improve my posture and core strength
Why am I doing this?
I usually eat fairly healthy during the day, but often when I get to the end of the day I will let my guard down and drink a couple beers or cocktails, or have a heavy meal followed by a high-calorie dessert.
I do have a good enough metabolism that I’m able to stay around my desired weight, but I don’t feel as healthy as I’d like to be.
I believe that setting a goal of getting six-pack abs will help me to discipline myself to stick to a healthy diet, exercise and be more conscious of how I’m treating my body.
I am NOT doing this to show off or seek attention
I am NOT doing this to meet women (I’m happily married)
I am NOT doing this to prove anyone wrong or prove myself right
This is simply an experiment of personal growth that I felt inspired to share publicly in the hopes of motivating and inspiring others to eat healthy and love their bodies.
What will I be doing?
- I will be posting what I eat and drink every day
- I will be posting my physical activity every day
- I will be posting updated pictures of my abs once or twice a week
- I will be posting my thoughts and feelings occasionally to let you know how I’m doing
What will I NOT be doing?
- I will NOT be going on any fad diets
- I will NOT be completely eliminating any foods from my diet
- I will NOT be starving myself
- I will NOT be taking any diet pills or supplements
- I will NOT be forcing myself to eat foods I don’t enjoy
- I will NOT be using the Ab Roller, the Bowflex, the Ab Lounge, the Flex Belt or any other products (not that there’s anything wrong with them)
I’d like to invite you to share your comments with me as I go through with this experiment.
