Dear God/ess, Today I am thinking about my own hero’s journey. Seeing John Cameron’s movie Avatar brought this up into my consciousness.

What is true for me is to allow my sixth sense and spirit become dominant in the way I relate to life, other people and the animals coming in and out of our lives.

Trees are as important to me as people or my dogs. Tree spirits are as alive as you or me. Never mistake the silence of a tree as a nonentity, for one time I walked into the forest of freshly downed old growth trees and heard their cry.

I cried with them.

The trees in the movie Avatar were mythic. Their roots connected to all the other roots of all the other trees and originated at the center of Gaia Earth, where all the possible healing in the world took place, reflected within the inner hearts of all people and living beings.

The Conestoda River that flows by our house is a living breathing and constantly changing life form, with light dancing over and in every crystalline drop of water.

Nature is at the heart of my own hero’s journey. The whole of nature flows through these prayers. God/ess is in every rock, acorn and ripple of river current.

The worship of nature is what I loved most about the movie Avatar. The fact that it’s an anti-war movie is refreshingly significant, as well.

Most of all, it stirs myth and dreaming deep with in the psyche and helps the entire audience wake up to their own dream potential.
